The weekend - Part 1

So much happened this weekend.

Thursday I flew up to Seattle, a very warm Seattle! Had a great sushi dinner with Baroness AM and the some of the retinue crew. Then it was back to AM's house and I got started on putting the lining on the cloak. She had *just* enough linen left on the roll for me to line the cloak, I had to piece it in 3 places and had a super small scrap left! I was worried that it wasn't going to work out, but knew that somehow it would since everything else has on this project. I sewed the pieces together by hand and got the neck edge of the cloak lined before I fell into bed at midnight.

The next morning AM had to go into work for a few hours and I finished up the cloak while she was gone. We drove down to Orting WA to the lovely River Glen farms site and got her tent set up. Ysabelot and I sweet talked Guillome (sp?) into writting a little speech for us, and he did an excelent job.

Saturday morning dawned sunny and warmish. I was called into court and given a letter of reference to the Baroness in my new Barony here and then Ysabelot and I went up and presented Fiach with his new cloak.  His jaw dropped open and there was a gasp of surprise from the audience when I showed it to them. Needless to say, the cloak was well recieved and Fiach was very, VERY touched. Amazing what a little time and effort can do......

Much promissed pictures coming
