Interviews up the ying/yang
Jun. 1st, 2003 09:50 pmThe interviews on Friday went really well, I am really glad that I had them on the same day, made for a great compare and contrast between the two managers and positions.
The first one was the second interview for the first position and it was a good interview, and they are going to make me an offer.... But there is still travel involved, and its a completley new field for me.
The second interview went ABSOLUTLY FABULEOUS!!!! I have never had such a good interview, we laughed and had a great time over the hour and a half that I was there. I am going back for a second interview on Thursday with one of the head Traders from the Trading Desk. They have hired a lot of new people lately and he is afraid that they will hire another 'personality' on the floor. A couple of the questions she asked me were "Have you ever lost your temper?" Rarely and then I just get real quiet and leave the room. " Are you a screamer?" No.
On trading floors, 'Personality' is key word for difficult person with a high strung temper who can fly off the handle and yell, they tend to be extremely brilliant but can be difficult to manage and deal with. Fortunatly, I have several family members like this, so I know how to handle these kinds, plus I have worked around these guys for years. I am anticipating that this second interview will be a piece of cake, hopefully it will be. The job is a combo of routine and creative work, which sounds like a nice combo to me.
Hopefully I will start over there in the beginning of July.
Off to bed for me, got to get up and be lucid for a 7:15 am call from Matt.
