The Enn's Dress is DONE!!!
Jun. 8th, 2003 05:31 pmI finished the dress!
Go here for the gallery of shots I took last night after I went to my first ever SCA event. I had a total blast this Saturday afternoon and everyone was impressed by how good I looked for my first piece of garb.
I was invited to the Lionhearts tourney by Cainer, a lady who runs the sewing guild here in Madrone, and who I met off of the Authentic_SCA yahoo group list. After court I was taken up and introduced to the Baroness Anna-Marie who wanted to meet me and know about my cool hat, which is actually a linen headress. The Baroness is so nice and we ended up chatting for about 30 min at least about costuming and the local group, and about silversmithing.
I ended up offering to teach a workshop/class on how to make the hauben, don't know what I have gotton myself into but I should have a lot of fun and meet tons of new people.
I am so happy to have this project done and feel that the next projects will go faster now that I have my confidence built up and know that I can do this.
Next up is my sister's dress, my brother's doublet, and I am hoping, a linen dress for me, since the wool was warm, but not uncomfortable, at 87 ish. However, I have no idea what it will be like at 90-100 degrees and have no wish to find out.
