Battle of the HR Titans
May. 27th, 2003 12:49 pmSo... If you have been keeping track of the job situ, I applied for this job and went in for one interview for them. Last week, they called and scheduled a second interview with me for this Friday. The job is OK, but involves LOTS of travel...
Then on Thursday of last week, I ran into S and we got to talking and she found out that I was looking for work and applying for jobs over at WaMu, then she told me that my old co-worker SBH was trying to hire for a business analyst position, also at WaMu but in a different department, working with people I already know. Long story short, I forwarded my resumee to S, it got sent to SBH. This morning I get a phone call from SBH's HR person about this new job, and we chatted and I have another interview on Friday morning. I told her that I was interviewing for this other position in another department. She said that there shouldn't be any conflict.
Then later this morning SBH calls me up, appearently the HR people were fighting over who was going to get me, because the first group thought that the second was poaching or something. SBH's HR person worked them around to agreeing to let me interview for both positions and letting me decide. What an embarressment of riches, I am not quite sure what to make of it.
This new job sounds like it would be a really cool position, since it is working in technology and on types of projects that I already have the experience and detailed knowledge into the data to do.
Friday should be an interesting day.
