Random Rants
Jul. 28th, 2003 06:10 pmNormally I try to keep my journal full of happiness and light, untouched by the darker side of my life, which is why I haven't been posting lately.... I have just been in the rantiest mood lately, so here are a few Random Rants from me since I just had to get it out.
******************* DISCLAIMER*******************************
If I have offended anyone by posting the below, my sincerest apologies, but I just had to let it out.
A. SCA name Y.C., these rants are _not_ about you!
*************************************************************
-Just because I want kids and am willing to give up the doubious pleasure of holding down an office job which is going nowhere fast and if I keep it up I _might_ make it into management in 20 years, yes I have a Bachelor's, going for a Master's.... I AM NOT A BREEDER!!!! That is like the most insulting thing I have ever heard. If you don't want to have kids, don't have kids, I respect that position and don't call you insulting names, please do the same for me, OK?
-Is it still OK to like the government? I happen to like the President, I think he is doing a good job. *gasp!* Lately I have had to be totally silent at dinner parties, around certain relatives and other social events because the people who were there were so anti-govt anti-country anti anti anti-everything. It was so un-comfortable to just sit there and have them shred conservatives, the presidents, religious people who actually go to church and try to do things right, and pretty much anything else, hyenas would have been more pleasent companions than such negative people.
Has civility gone out of style? Whatever happened to "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"?
Maybe I have a little bit more stake in the country being married to a guy in the military, but guess what? I voted for Bush and I like him. And whatever you may say about Bush, Clinton was worse, and I am not just saying that because he was a Dem. I personally am quite happy to have the newspaper headlines be about things other than Presidential scandels about money, files, real estate, interns, sex, suspicious murders, yada yada yada. I didn't vote for Gore simply because I didn't want anyone who was tainted by those kinds of scandals. Enough is enough. Fresh perspectives and thoughts please.
-Bush did not ruin the economy, the economy was already going down in flames at the end of Clinton's terms, there was just too much irrational exuberence and screwy accounting going on for it to show up. Working in the financial industries and having a Business degree, I could see the cracks in the pretty varnish and the storm clouds on the horizon, it was only a case of when the storm would break and the floods sweep down from the mountain. I personally was surprised that it took so long for it to happen, there were bad bad signs back in 1998, with the LTC bailout and Japan not improving but going down deeper into recession. I am not going to be investing in Real Estate anytime soon, I think that's the next bubble to burst.
-Democrats are the worst crybabies and losers. Suck it up, get a clue and try to win elections without cheating at the ballot box next time. Make me **care** about your agenda, not just pity you that you have no life except to whine that its not fair. And stop changing your fricken minds along with the polls. I am a woman, I am white, I have a good job, I am hetrosexual and married, I have moral scruples... If you want my vote, put up a platform that I can agree to. Not this B.S. that is currently coming out.
On a totally different note, but still ranting.......
-Must T-Tunics have an inverted U for a hem? Did no one ever teach people to trim their hems even?!!!???!!? Good grief. I just wanted to walk around Coronation and trim things even with my scissors, it was really bad. Not as bad as the woman who thought that a black sarong and duct tape pasties over the nipples was appropriate garb to walk around in. She really needed a bra, looked like the indigineous women in old National Geographic pictures.
******** End rant*************
