Little elves at work in my house?!?

I get home tonight and I walk in and out of the kitchen a few times before it occurs to me that a cookbook is in a different spot than what I remember, that a towel is in the wrong spot, then it strikes me, all the dirty dishes are clean and I didn't wash them, the counters are clean and the stove has been scrubbed, plus the two dozen cookies I had out on racks are GONE!!! So I check the back door, its still locked.....

Then I think, Call Grandma! ;)

She is going to be coming over and taking care of Ginger while I am gone. She thought I said I would leave Tuesday (I said Thursday, but when you are 83.....)

So she came over today while I was at work to make sure he had food. She thought it was odd that my car would still be in the driveway and that I would leave a sink full of dirty dishes and two dozen cookies out on the counter for the week that I was gone, but oh well, she's heard of stranger things, so she did my dishes for me and put the cookies in the oven. ;)

So now I have a clean kitchen prior to going on vacation, what a sweetie.

This has actually been done for about a month or so, but I've been too busy/lazy to get a pic on the web.

Its not a landsknecht dress, but rather a town dwellers dress, from Augsburg about 1525 ish, its my work and camp dress and is very comfy. The bodice is self supporting, no bra or corset needed or worn, 100% linen for those hot summer days, short enough that I can walk up stairs with an armload of stuff and not trip over the hem.

I do realize that the guards on the skirt are a little early in time for this area, I at least can't find documentation for them in this area this early, later in the 1570's yes, but not 1530's. However, the skirt looked pretty plain without them and people kept confusing me with being Flemish (*gasp*), so I added the guards so that there would be no confusion in the common mind that it was indeed German.

Also, the partlet/undergoller is in the middle of being fixed so that it doesn't expose my neck and make me look like a cheap woman off exposing her neck to the world to attract men into sin. ;)
