mmcnealy: (Old Me)

Friday

The washer wasn't fixed after all, started squeaking again after two loads. Called the landlady and she has now ordered a new one.  After all the trouble with the washer and everything else last week, I broke down in tears and cried on Matt's shoulder. I think that's the 3rd time I've cried with him around. Anyway, I feel much better now and hopefully am on an up-bound track to being myself again.

Saturday

Saturday was Ursulmas, a SCA event and public demo, which means that you don't have to be in costume to attend, I told Matt this and he actually came along! He didn't really enjoy himself, didn't really have anything to do and didn't know anyone, plus he was convinced that people were starring at him for not being in costume. They weren't, it was just his imagination, but I think we have all been in that "I really don't fit in here at all!" situations. They were actually all starring at my haube, as usual I had 3-4 people ask me how it was made, which was a nice feeling. ;)

The Glee Club was scheduled for singing at 2:30, the acoustics were AWFULL, I would be surprised if anyone could actually hear what we were singing, but it went well.

After the singing Matt and I headed home and got ready for my friend Lisa's 30th birthday party. We had a good time and got to see several people that we hadn't seen in so long

Sunday

Woke up at 3:30am when Matt's alarm went off for him to go to work. Didn't get back to sleep until a couple of hours later, I think I will sleep well tonight.  Went to Cainder's house and spent a couple of hours looking through her extensive library for good stuff and pictures of Balzos (an Italian headdress in the 1400's). Got some great pictures that help to support my theory on where the balloon headresses came from in Nurnberg in the 1500's.

All in all a very productive yet relaxing weekend.
