Bored, Bored and Flaming Mad!

mmcnealyWell today started out good. I caught the bus I was planning to catch, not the one that I usually end up taking because I missed the other one, and got to work not that late. Then I go to check my Yahoo mail account, and discover that the work computers have blocked it. I am so MAAAAAD!!!! They don’t want us to use work email for personal stuff, so I haven’t been, I have been using Yahoo for things like, oh looking for a new job, which is kinda important since I am supposed to be laid off at the end of July. Its also the account that I use to email my husband on, he’s over on a ship in the Gulf right now and we email each other at least once a day. Now to check my email I have to go walk over to the public library with all the homeless men who need baths and use the free computers there.
Work is going the same, no work to do, nada, nothing, zilch. I come in every day, like I have been for the last 4 months and there is nothing to do, they pay me really well though, which is why I haven’t quit. If I can stick it out until they lay me off at the end of July, then I will get some significant re-education benefits which I plan to use for grad school, but until then….. I am so bored and having outside mail really helped relieve the boredom. Fortunately LJ isn’t blocked yet, yet being the operative word. Please God, don’t let them block it…. Please
Maybe this is what I need to kick start me into action and finish the articles and post-completion write ups on a few projects. Maybe. I WANT EMAIL!!!
In other happier news, I completed the eyelets on my sister’s Effigy corset last night, all 26 of them, maybe more I don't actually count eyelets its too depressing. I also got some weed-whacker line at Fred Meyer’s that I am going to use for boning, so now I just need to take action and get the boning done tonight and then I can get the binding sewn on tomorrow at work. Fortunately my cube is in this out of the way corner, so nobody can see me at my desk unless they walk back here purposely, which nobody does because all the people who would give me work to do are in CT and I am in WA.
