Bidpai is a really influential book of the Renaissance and early modern period, based on the ancient India Panchatantra tradition - I've collected some various editions of Bidpai in English that are available through GoogleBooks (http://books.google.com/books?as_labels=bidpai&uid=11474406259561102151).
