I so want to start a new project... Probably something with wire or embroidery, or maybe a sewing project....
But, I have decided to be focused and disciplined, since I currently have 4 things that are close to being done, I am going to focus on finishing them up before I start anything new. Pretty novel concept uh?

My sister tried on her new corset and it fits really well, I just need to put in the eyelets on the straps, sew on the cord that ties through them and it is done. I didn't get any pics of her in it, so when I get the eyelets done I will take the pics of me in it.

I have just a few more inches left to knit on the shipwreck barret replica that I am making, then that project is done.

The Enn's gown really doesn't have that much left to do on it, I have done all the research and the mockup. I just need to take the plunge, draw out the pieces and cut the darn thing out. Once its cut I will be OK, its just being awake and clear headed enough so that I don't make some stupid mistake and ruin 4 yards of cheap wool. I don't know why I am so hung up about this. Maybe I will do this tonight, just take the plunge and go for it.

The farthingale needs the hem and the draw string casing put in and then the rope sewn into it. A project for a boring day at work or a long movie.

This weekend I was glad to go see my parents and very happy to come back home. I now remember why I don't live closer.

Oh, and I told a friend I would look into altering one of her bridesmaids dresses for her wedding on May 25th. I haven't seen it yet, so I have NO idea what I just got myself into.

Matt called from some middle eastern port last night. He went out shopping and bought a silk carpet, appearently its purple with flowers and it's supposed to arrive on my doorstep on Tuesday.
He said not to let our cat get on it. Ginger-snap loves to lay on the persian carpets, that my grandma gave us, and roll around and shed long white fur clumps all over the place. It drives Matt crazy, but I think its hilarious and the kitty looks so cute doing it too.

it's a big decorate-y thing nowadays to hang a fancy rug on the wall. It would certainly cut back on the cat-fur issues. (unless you have a REALLY acrobatic cat)

He has been known to get into and onto pieces of fabric that I thought were secure. And being a good Wicks/McNealy cat, he has an extreme fondness for wool. It runs in the family.
I just can't wait for it to arrive, I want to see what it looks like.
