Fabric Dilemma

mmcnealy Caramel Velvet or Chocolate Merino ?
The dress fabric is sort of this color, a little darker and more rich into the golden greens, with slubbed threads in it every once in a while, so that it looks like a heavy silk, but its not.
The brown fabric would be used for guards and accents on the bodice, shoulder treatments and skirt details. Its supposed to be a middle class dress, and I am trying to keep it as middle as possible, but the velvet looks so good with the green fabric. *sigh*
An added consideration is the velvet is about $12 a yard and the wool is $9 AND I have a discount coupon on the wool
