Joy to the World, the Lord is born!
Dec. 25th, 2003 07:43 amToday is Christmas, and it looks to be a nice quiet sort of day. Matt had duty yesterday and has to do the Christmas day service onboard this morning, so I went up and visited him on the ship last night. I left about 7 pm and drove down to Seattle to go to Christmas Eve service. It was such a lovely service, with the whole congregation of about 700+ people holding lit candles for Silent Night at the end. I drove home to Bach's Christmas Cantata on the radio, which just kept up the joyful singing mood. I was so blissfully happy when I got home, I love Christmas Eve, there's so much anticipation of what's going to happen the next day. Sang some more carols in front of the creche under the tree and then went to bed.
Today Grandma and my Uncle Stan are coming for Christmas dinner at noon. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn and possibly rolls are on the menu, with apple pie for dessert. After dinner I don't know what we'll do, maybe sit around and talk, go for a walk or play Parchesee, I know what Matt's vote is going to be, he is so not a talker!
I don't know what I am getting for Christmas, Matt's been ultra secretive about presents this year. I know I am getting a pair of earrings for sure as I helped pick those out, but the rest? Hmmm..... My family's presents will be coming over with them this weekend when they come to visit, boy will that be a full house! Then Matt's parents come on Jan 2nd for 5 days. Family visits are fun, but exhausting to be sure.
Merry Christmas everybody!
