Slowly but surely I am working through the backlog.

Here's a knitting project that I did, recreation of a knitted man's hat from a 1583 shipwreck

I'm thinking of selling knitting patterns as a side business to bring in a little extra.

If you would like to be a pattern tester for me I will send you the step by step instructions and yarn to make it with. ;)

If you can knit in the round, increase and decrease, you can make one of these hats. They are so very simple.

Send me your mailing addy at m_mc_nealy(AT)yahoo dot com and I'll send you the pattern and the yarn next week.

I'm in awe!
The thought of making one of these knitted 16th c hats has been in my mind for years, but I never got around to it. I don't think I could have made a pattern either, I can knit easy things but make a pattern, no.
Now I'm just waiting for a photo of Matt in
these.
A bit more complicated, but absolutely gorgeous.

LOL! yah right! I will be a very happy woman if I can ever get Matt to wear ANY form of historical costume, let alone bright yellow knit silk court dandy pants!

On serious note, those are truly beautiful and a work of art, they also would be a serious pain in the neck to make! Ugh, all those loose ends to weave in.

Thanks, I really enjoy figuring out knitting patterns, ever since I was a teenager, I've been able to look at a knitted or crocheted article and figure out how it was made, just a gift I have.
