Linen Toweling fabric

A couple of weeks ago there was a dicussion on the Authentic SCA list about appropriate fabric for towels. 
I found this fabric at Fashion Fabrics, a basket weave 100% linen in its natural grey color.

It arrived a couple of days ago, its wonderful for toweling! Not too thick, not too thin, seems to be absorbant.

And the best part? Right now FFC is having a $2 off sale on all linen fabrics over $8 a yard, and the linen toweling is $8 a yard prior to the discount, so its $6 a yard now.

Linen towels are great. I use a rather thin linen for bathing towels and not only does it soak up a lot of water, it also dries a lot faster than terry cloth. And you don't have to hang them to dry inside your pavillion to avoid people seeing them, as you have with "normal" towels.

Yes, but at least the fabric is on sale right now through April 30th, it wasn't when I bought it. ;(

Heh. Too bad I don't have the $20 to spare this month...or next...
