I just realized that its been days and days since I updated LJ...

Let's see, Sewing news.... Got the hooks and eyes sewn on the Enn's dress, it now fastens without safety pins and looks nice. The hem and guards remain to be done. I also intend to make some sleeves that tie in. My mother thinks I am insane to be wearing a wool dress in summer, let along having sleeves on the the thing. Sigh... Mothers.
I am taking it with me when I go over to Kennwick tomorrow so Mom can help me with the hem, hems are really hard to do by yourself in the mirror.

Last night I hauled my fabric stash out and inventoried it as well as organized it by color family. Then I worked out the fabric schemes for my next project. Most of my fabric stash up to this point has not been purchased with an eye towards what colors co-ordinate together, its more like, "Ooooh.... Pretty fabric, good price, MINE!" Needless to say, this creates an interesting selection of fabric that may or may not go together. So now I have the fabric set out for two doublets, one out of light green silk, one of out grey (maybe dyed black) tweed wool, and a black wool and silver duponi dress.

However before I can start a new project, I have to finish the Enn's dress and my sister's dress.

I drafted the bodice pattern for my sister's dress this afternoon, I followed the bodice pattern in Alcega, or generally anyway. My sister is not a big fan of the arched bodice, she looks really good in square necked bodice, so I changed the neckline. I am going to be working on that while I am over there, I hope to be super productive and get the body of the dress done and fitted on her person while I am over there, then there will just be the decoritive elements to put on over here.

Yup, Kennewick WA. I am currently sitting at my Dad's computer and typing away with the fan blowing on me.

Where are you located? Richland? Pasco? Are you going to the faire at the end of June?

Ok, I know where Pendleton is! Pretty little town.

My sister and I will be at Greenwood, not sure if we are working or not, need to check on that. But we will be there. We should definitly try and make connections at the faire, wooo hooo, my first in person meeting with an online costumer!

Garb... Working frantically on my sister's for the next month. Mine is basically done, yah right. If I keep saying that, it will get done.

Ok, let's qualify that with online *NEWBIE* costumer. LOL. Since it's bound to be roasting up there in late June, I'm trying to figure out if I want to go Early Period, Very Early Period, or what (Viking vs Greek vs ??) I desperately want to do later period, but alas my sewing knowledge/skills/experience aren't up for an outfit by the end of the month.... *sniffles*

Oh well, back to scrubbing bird cages.
