Yesterday afternoon I was in one of my super-productive mult-tasking moods and ran downstairs, popped the green wool that I am going to use for my Brother's doublet in the wash. While the water was running in, I opened the lid and checked the color of the dark green fabric against this silver duponi that I have in the stash because he wants silver trim on his doublet. I don't know if that's what caused the problem that insued but here's what happened this morning..

I went downstairs to put it in the dryer, and discovered a washer full of dark dark green water. Hmmmm. The lid had been up slightly and as soon as I set it down, it started going again. The fabric looks a bit faded to me, we will see how it dries. I may need to dye it a different color if it looks awful.

I didn't get anything done on my sister's dress last night, ended up going out for a walk and dinner with a friend, which I needed badly and just didn't know. Hopefully I will get the lining for her bodice cut out, sewn to the outer fabric and ready for finishing. I need to wash or somehow prep the cotton velvet for the dress, I am going to try machine washing a small swatch.
