The green refuses to dye black. This is after trying acid dye and 4 packages of black RIT. Now it is this really dark teal color that I haven't decided if I like or not. It is also fulled. I have decided to give up on it for the time being and use another piece of black fabric in my stash for my brother's doublet. I am really tempted to just bundle the whole thing up and toss it.

My sister's bodice is all sewn together and I figured out the sizing and placement of the shoulder and waist tabs this morning. The green and the brown look good, but I decided it needed a third element and chose a copper/black ribbon yarn that is really cool looking for a trim.

Gah! Don't toss! Put it away for awhile and if you still don't like it then give it away.

That's what my Mom said. So right now its sitting in a dejected heap in my guest room. I had such plans for this fabric when it was black. ;(

If you don't mind ordering dye from afar, you might try ordering some black dye from Dharma Trading :) They sell really good kinds.

That was were the acid dye was from. Maybe I didn't use enough of it... Either way I am sick of this fabric and have decided to set it aside for a while. I have too little time to waste fussing with it.
