Lacing rings and shoulder tabs...
Jun. 23rd, 2003 06:26 pmFor details on what I have been up to today....
Here's a pic of the shoulder rolls/tabs/wings that I put together today. All the decorative strips are sewn by hand, the tabs are sewn to the under shoulder wing part by hand, and the shoulder tab wing is also sewn to the bodice by hand. The difficult part is the decortive strips, especially the really pretty copper yarn stuff, a double strand of the stuff did NOT want to lie nicely and be sewn. Both shoulder wings are done and finished. Thank goodness!

Linuxwitch...
Here are pics of the lacing rings.
Close up, the rings are just set back from the very edge, just like an eye would be with hooks and eyes, the ring shouldn't show over the edge of the fabric

This is what it looks like laced. The eyes are spaced 1" apart.

From the front. I put them in by machine, just like you would sew on a button. I need to save my fingertips for other work, its also TONS faster by machine. ;)

Hope this helps!
