Date: 2005-09-02 06:51 pm (UTC)Basically, this has been predicted for a very long time, since the 1960's, and nothings been planned for. Disaster planning happens at the local level, the locals have known for a very long time that this is a possibility.
They are fighting a losing battle with Mother Nature and the mighty Mississippi who wants to move to new digs. I feel very sorry for them and all the suffering that they are going through, the loss of life and property, and will be doing what I can do from here.
