Almost to the finish line....

I am caffinated, alert... and entirely un-focused. These are the things I want to get done today.
- Work on ribbon ties for E's corset
- Work sample eyelets for guide and do write up
- FINISH the lining article that I started last week or the week before. I just have two more little write ups to do, a little editing and then it can be posted for public consumption.

However, my inclination is to just forget about projects and go back to reading "Dressing Renaissance Florence" Which is a really fasinating book talking about the guild system and where tailor's fit into the regulated guild and social structure in Florence in the 13-1400's. It also deals with the social status of women, who weren't regulated by the guilds. Someplace in the later chapters, that I haven't gotten to yet, it goes into fabric yardages used in the garments of the period. Its a good read, but it isn't getting anything accomplished in the sewing department.

Fed Ex, Deliver up my package!!!!

Walking on the way home today, I saw the Fed Ex Ground truck, I passed it crossing the street, then after visiting the grocery store I saw it three blocks from my house.... Then I saw it drive past my street!!!!
GAAAH!

I want my rug from Matt! It should be here any day and it isn't here yet. VERY annoying. I hope/pray/plead, that this is not another present from Matt gone awry, he has the worst luck in giving me presents, something usually happens in the course of giving them to cause him frustration or to cause them to not happen at all. As presents are his love language of showing that he loves me, this is not good.

La corseta esta fini!!!

The corset for my sister is done, I sewed on the ribbon ties this morning. Pictures will be coming soon, hopefully this weekend.

I also got the example eyelets worked and most of the text written too. Now I just need to use my scanner to get the close-up shots since my camera is not taking good detail shots of the stiches and I think its really important to see what is really going on.

I really need to get my act together and order the velvet for the trim on her dress, as well as wool for mine. Maybe that's a project for tonight, before my dear friend CC shows up for dinner.

This weekend is shaping up to be crazy, a charity walk tomorrow morning, silversmithing class mid-morning, friend's birthday party tomorrow night. Sometime this weekend I need to do the alterations on the bridesmaids outfit that has to be done by Monday night.

I need another weekend. Good thing next weekend is a 3 day one.
