Today is the day I have finally been waiting for. No social commitments, no messy house, not a work day, I can finally just sit down and sew.

I finished cutting out the Enn's gown last night, I have the interlining and lining to cut out, but I have just decided to line it down to the hips so that the inside of the waist is finished. My goal is to have a finished dress but for the guards by tonight. Since its 8:30 now, I might have a chance to make it.

I also intend to take pictures of my sister's finished corset, now that I have a re-charged camera battery and free time. And maybe, GASP!, update my dress journals. I have been neglecting it the last few weeks.

Yesterday was pretty crazy, but I did get the altertions done on the bridesmaid's dress and now have 2 finished pieces of jewelry from silversmithing class.

Here are the two pieces of jewelry that I just got finished yesterday in class. The earrings still need to have the ear-wires put on them.

If I could figure out how to post pictures on the screen I would, but since I can't, here are the links.

Here are the pics of my sister's effigy corset on me. I am going to be starting a journal on her dress, hopefully sometime before its finished. Maybe I will just to a descriptive write-up after I get it done....

Close up of ribbon ties and adjustable straps. I made the straps with 4 eyelets so that they are adjustable to 3 different positions.

I will, hopefully, get my dress diary updated with the whole scoop and pictures tomorrow, but this is the short version. I got the linings cut out, the piecings sewn to the skirt and then interlining basted to the dress fabric. Then I realized it was 2:30 and I hadn't eaten anything since a little bit of breakfast at 10:00. Which is probably why it took me 25 MINUTES to decide how to finish the raw edges of the interlining for goodness sake. Yah, my brain had slowed to glacial speed right about then.

All the seams are sewn together and pressed, and the pleats set with safety pins. I tried it on, and it looks really good. I cut it about 5 inches too long and didn't curve the edges of the skirts up enough, so right now I have a serious train effect going on in the back. It also is better at sweeping floors than my swifter is. Being navy blue it attracts lint from the ether and doesn't photograph at all well.

Oh well.
Right now its hanging up so that the hem can do any drooping that its going to do before I trim it shorter. Tomorrow I hope to get the hem trimmed, the lining sewn in, and dig a suitible sleeve pattern out of the depths of my basement. I might get more done, but the above is my goal.
