Its Wednesday?!? Already?
Jun. 25th, 2003 11:23 amI can't believe how the week has just flown by! On Monday I went to a Barony social at Greenspire, sewed the trim on the waist tabs and socialized, met some great people and remade connections with a few that I met at Lionhearts. I am hoping to get the pink dress done for Coronation, its the second weekend in July. I really don't think that its going to get done before this weekend, I will be lucky to get my sister's dress finished, her smock, petticoat, and my brother's shirt and doublet done.
Last night was the dinner at the teen shelter, we served 25 kids and about 6 staff members, it went really well and a lot came back for seconds. We do it again next month, so we are already thinking of things that would go well.
The dress is going well, the skirt is in the process of being attatched to the bodice, its halfway done right now. I cut the front of the skirt to follow the same curve as the point of the bodice, then I hand top stitched it to hold it in place, then I rolled the raw edge under and tacked it. Thank goodness this fabric doesn't ravel, otherwise that wouldn't work.
Now I am whipstitching the bodice to the skirt, I am going to get both fronts done and then figure out the pleats in the back, the fronts are both flat and the back is pleated. I put a doubled up piece of wool in the top of the back skirt to give the pleats some poof. I am taking pictures as I go along, but the diary isn't going to get updated until after its finished, too much to do.
Back to sewing like a mad woman.
