Fencing was so very good tonight, I feel like we got a good workout. This month we have been doing Epee (pron. eh-pay) but the next two classes will be sabre just so we can try it out.
Foil is graceful, but I think Epee is more fun, much more competitive, as there is no frustrating "Right of Way" when it comes to scoreing, either the box goes off or it doesn't in Epee. With Foil, the box has to go off and you had to have been in control of the blade. I personally think that I am more of an Epeeist than a Foiler, but I will take Foil again next month and see how I like it. Its certainly easier to pick up bouts in the local club doing Foil rather than Epee.
