Last night was just so lovely. Had a great fencing lesson with Stewart so I'm all prepared for Saturday's competition. Then I headed off to a Culinary guild reconstruction. I got to work on a recipe out of Cousteau, French 16th century cookbook author, for artichoke pasties and they turned out really good.

Its off to work for me, I have so much to get done today.

Just for fun. Jumping on Alienor's bandwagon. Take my friend's test and see how well you really know me. ;)

Well, I think I'm ready for the event tomorrow. The fencing whites are in the wash and should smell all nice and fresh tomorrow. I bought an elbow brace to protect my lower upper arm where the underarm guard doesn't cover, hopefully should cut down on future bruises; and gel heel pads for my shoes, nothing like happy feet! ;) I found my USFA membership card and made sure its packed.

*shocked*

I just checked the pre-registration listing, there's 47 people listed! _gulp_

5A's, 6B's, 6C's, 8D's, 5E's, 17U's

We'll just see how it goes tomorrow, the luck of the pool placements and my memory of things I've learned.

Main points for me to meditate on:
- Keep good distance from opponent
- Arm to the outside, wrist out for good point control
- Smooth movements, No bouncing of body or pumping of arm.
- With lefties, keep control of the outside.
- Agression is good, but keep it under calm control
- Beats are my strength.

I'm trying to go out and just have fun, learn new things and not be too tied up with placement. I know I shouldn't place DFL (Dead Fricking Last) unless I really screw up.
