A really nice weekend
Jul. 12th, 2004 06:57 pm[Bad username or unknown identity: Saturday morning I woke up early and clean the house and was just generally very productive like ][Bad username or unknown identity: a good housewife should be. Did loads of laundry and we now have fresh linens all over the house. ]
jenlemus came over on later Saturday morning and we had a great time going to Santa Cruz and riding on the roller coasters and people watching. I felt like a teenager again and the weather was so very nice.
Sunday we hung out and chatted then drove up to her house. I got to play with her kitten Spot, very sweet playfull kitten. I miss having a kitten versus a cat, well except when it comes time to sleep that is! Spot has the nicest purr on him and is a complete manic when it comes to chasing toys on strings.
Sunday night was the costume clinic and I finally got to meet
ashariel,
merastra and
sarahbellem in person. It was a really good clinic and well worth the hour and a half drive home in the dark. Now its got me thinking about all the things I could do with false hair and new costumes. It was also just so nice to actually get to hang out with a bunch of women who do costuming, I miss the frantic swapping of information and the "Oh! Oh! I've got the perfect reference for that, here, let me show you....." and the WOW factor of a good costume/clothing. I also got to preach my little sermonette on how all one needs is Patterns of Fashion, the Alcega facsmille and the Costumer's Handbook to create really good and accurate clothing. Well, you also need an internet connection to see the nice portraits and art online and good fabric too, but you definitly don't need to buy patterns to make garb.
Then I drove home through the fog, ate a little dinner and picked Matt up at the airport at 11:15, came home and slept the deep sleep of the weary. It was a wonderful weekend, and well worth being a little out of it all day.
