Had my two week baby checkup today. Everything looked good and the doctor checked that the baby was head down, which it was. Good baby! I'm measuring at 33 weeks, both in fundal height and head measurement done on the ultrasound. So I'm measuring right on track for an Aug 3rd ish date.

Its plenty active, and didn't seem to like the nasty orange soda glucola that I had to drink for another glucose tolerance test today. Man, those were some nasty hard kicks I got while waiting in the lab waiting area for one hour to be up. I don't find out if I passed the gestational diabeties test until next appointment in two weeks. Last time I passed, hopefully I passed this time too.

Everything else seems to be going well, the baby knows Matt's voice and usually gives him a good hard kick when he puts his head on my stomach. I'm back to having a short attention span, just like I did in the first trimester, and my heat tolerance is way down. I really need to start taking my walks later in the day after its cooled off and the sun isn't so bright.

Why did they make you take another 1 hour glucose tolerance test? That bites. I wish my office would let us eat the jelly beans instead of the warm orange uncarbonated drink.

Actually this stuff was cold, so it tasted marginally better, but still 3 times as sweet as anything I would normally eat or drink.

The doctor wanted me to take another test since he thinks the baby is a big baby, and big babies can cause gestational diabeties.

At least I was prepared this time with a full stomach of protein, lots of water and a good book.

The glucse tolerance test I took when I was diagnosed as diabetic back in 1980 involved fasting blood work, a normal breakfast, then another blood draw after the food. No nasty glucola. Too bad they can't do it that way.

Good, healthy baby. Maja weighed 3990 grams and actually was chubby when she was born. Vendela and Valeria weighed 2 kilos each.
