Dale at work was talking about cinnamon rolls this morning, not about CinnaBons or sticky buns, but good old fashioned cinnamon rolls... like Grandma's used to make. I told him to STOP! Talking about them, but he just kept mumbling about them all day, until I finally broke down, said to heck with the 3 day old diet and promissed that I would make some tonight and bring them in tomorrow. They are rising right now and I really should be working on diagrams for the class on Wednesday....

However, back to the diet. I have lost 5 pounds since last Wednesday, maybe it was water weight, don't really care, it was weight that wasn't budging off of me no matter what and now its gone. Michelle and I have entered into a No Chocolate and NO junk food during work hours pact. Soda is still in, in minimal quantities, as is Thai food, but chips and chocolate are gone. And NO CHEATING!

We'll see who lasts the longest.

Cinnamon! Some jerk at my office brings cinnamon bread and toasts some very morning - it smells so good I could kill him for a piece of it. Congrats on the weight loss, BTW.

A cinnamon roll is this, you take sweet roll bread dough, roll it out into a rectangle and about 1/3 to 1/4 inch thick. Then you spread it with a mixture of melted butter, brown sugar, lots of ground cinnamon, a little ground cloves and a shake or two of nutmeg. This should spread easily but not be runny. Over this you sprinkle chopped nuts and raisens that have been soaked in hot water till they are softened. Drain the raisens and squeeze out the water, I like to add a little rum after the draining. Sprinkle the raisens over the dough. Then on the long side of the dough, roll the rectangle into a log.
Cut the log into sections about 1.5 -2" thick and place them in a buttered cake pan, if they touch on the sides they will stay soft longer.
Let rise until high and fluffy, bake at tempreture called for roll dough and for about 20 min. They should be golden or dark brown on top.

They are so yummy and best eaten hot out of the oven, but cold is good too, as is heated up in the microwave later.....
