Thursday, whatta week

mmcnealyI really should be in bed right now but I am not. I am luxuriating in not being asleep or at work tied to my desk.
Work has again been one of those really bad stretches of chaotic stressful days, with co-workers who are pushing their boundries to see how far I will stretch the rules. I now have permission from Matt that if things are not better by the end of October I can give notice and quit. We don't need my salary financially, it just goes to support my fabric and book habit and the "saving for the someday downpayment" fund. Some jobs are just not worth the stress level, no matter how much you enjoy the people.
Matt has called the last two nights, they've been in port, and we have had really long conversations of about 45 mins. I really miss talking to him and telling him nonsensical stories about work and our friends, you know the random stuff that you just don't tell someone when you only have 15 mins to talk to them and you are trying to cram all the important stuff in before the phone dies.
Then today, on one of the costuming email lists I am on somebody was going on and on about this pic of Cate Blanchet in gawd aweful modern rendition of German Ren, I just snapped and sent off a somewhat harshly firm, "Let's get back on topic here folks". The moderator ended up agreeing with me but I got some flak before that happened, probably deservedly since I could have said it a lot nicer than I did.
Got a nice walk in on the way home today. I really must go for a massage on the way home tomorrow, my shoulders and neck are all in knots.
Oh, I can't wait for this weekend! Saturday I am working on the tables, Sunday its a girl's chocolate fest, Monday its two pattern drafting classes. Someplace in there I am going to sleep in and just relax.
