Today feels like Fall is HERE! Right here, right now, not going away anytime soon.

The last two days have just been glorious, like summer’s final encore at her last concert for the season. Clear blue skies and hot sunshine, the windows open and sunglasses required. It was definitly shorts and tee-shirt weather yesterday. Not so today!

Today... I woke up before the sun rose and looked out. The dark sky looked like it was a cloudy sky before the sun rose, not the sharpness of a clear sky before dawn. I thought about not grabbing a coat, but decided I had better take one or I would regret it later. As I ran up the hill and across the street to catch the bus, the leaves were falling off my locust tree like golden snowflakes and the wind scuttered brown leaves across the road. The sky, now that the sun had risen, was a bright leaden grey and looked as if it could mist at any moment if given provocation.

The bus was late. Never a great start for any day and practically a bad omen when it happens on a Monday. It was a bad situation all around, earlier bus cancelled due to driver not showing up, new bus driver on our bus who didn’t know the route so drove slooow, later bus taken out of schedule completely so those people took our bus, super bad traffic into downtown. The end result was that I was late to work by a good 25 minutes. I ran into the elevator bay hoping that my boss hadn’t been looking for me, and fortunately she hadn’t been.

After such a potentially ominous start to the day, everything else has gone relatively smoothly. B is finally back from vacation, lucky (insert favorite idiom here) got to go to Italy for 3 weeks and tour around doing research in coolisimo libraries for his Master’s thesis on how Jews impacted art during the Renaissance. Now he’s back with a tan and a smile. Grrrrr. I am so envious of his trip.

The weather now has confirmed my “Coat Required” reading of the morning. The wind has picked up and a chill set in, I was very glad for the extra layer over my sweater when I was out for my lunchtime walk.

Tonight YC is coming over for a steak dinner so we can watch the first installment of Elizabeth R. This should be a fun time.

Coat Required? I had to go buy a coat in July to last a summer in San Francisco.

Am jealous about Elizabeth R.

Did I tell you? My husband is going to try to get stationed in Seattle after he gets back from Iraqi.

Elizabeth R.

My husband got the series for me for my birthday this year. It's wonderful and Glenda Jackson is very believable as Elizabeth.

Fall is my fav. time of year. Don't need coats just sweaters here in NorCal.
