This is what I want to do for my next project, headresses (she's wearing two, one on top of the other) and all!

The dress underneath the cloak appears to be made out of moire or wattered silk, in a pale olive green. Anyone know of a good source for moire silk? I haven't done a full search for it yet, but it doesn't seem easy to find. I may just have to go with a different kind of silk for the project if I can't find any.

Personally, I think it looks more like a brocade or damask type fabric...YMMV.

There's an article on 16th century middle class female headdress in Nürnberg in the book "Terminologie und Typologie mittelalterliche Sachgüter:das Beispiel der Kleidung". It's a report from the Krems Insitute, which studies german material culture and everyday life in the middle ages and early renaissance. The book is from 1986 and has the ISBN 3-7001-1461-3.

I would try www.silkconnection.com
and here they have it in plum but I think it could be easily dyed.
