Quince pies and sleeves
Oct. 31st, 2003 10:37 pmToday was my last day at the job that just wasn't me. I am so glad that its over with. My co-workers were grateful that I had stayed on as long as I had since it gave them time to take some vacation and for me to finish up a couple of uber simple automation projects.
Then I came home, chatted with my Mom, got groceries and got started working on the stewed quinces that have been in the fridge for a while. They were still good amazinly and I ran them through the food mill and made thick pulpy. For pies, I cooked some of the pulp with port wine, a little sugar and some cinnamon.
After the pie shells were filled and in the oven, I nibbled on a little bit of the leftover filling. Oh man is that good stuff!
Matt called tonight and we got a great talk in on the phone. He will be home in 10 days, I am so thrilled I can barely stand it.
Back to working on sleeves for the Enn's dress. Its gonna be freaking freezing tomorrow, and its at a school so no bets on them having the heat up. I am bringing my short cape and a fox fur collar off of one of my vintage coats.
