12th Night Costuming To Do list
Dec. 9th, 2003 08:56 amSo I decided that I would just go later period for now, if I have time I may whip out a 1500ish dress for comforts sake, they don't look that complicated.
Finish already started
-Farthingale
-Smock
New projects
-New corset (Black silk outside, peach linen on the inside, weedwacker line for the stiffening)
-Schaube (Big warm coatey thing with large fur collar, dark red wool with mink fur)
-Goldhaube (Gold silk satin, embroidered with black silk thread and pearls)
-Cute little black velvet hat, decorated with gold washed brass beads
Still not sure about the color scheme of the outside garments. I have a great idea (and the fabric for) a really cool doublet made out of this brilliant green silk and velvet trim, its based off of a grave find from 1574. The original is a man's garment, but its such a gorgeous piece!
-Petticoat/Underskirts (silk tafetta)
-Skirt (with banding, not sure what color)
-Doublet (probably green silk with black velvet trim)
-Jerkin (Slashed satin, like the original?)
The goal of all these projects is to use fabric that is already in my possesion, no buying new fabric unless its been determined that what I have just won't work at all.
