I should point out that this is for my sister's middle class gown, Elizabethian, but more of the French, German and Italien influences, ie, no split skirt. I imaging the guards would look something like the ones on Elenora of Toledo's gown from PoF, but I plan on having small sleeve rolls or tabs on the shoulders. Sis doesn't want dress sleeves, she really doesn't want shirt sleeves either, but I told her that a lady would not have had bare arms.
