Great, missed my first German class for the washing machine guy, who then tells me that the part that the Landlady ordered isn't the part that was needed, really it needs springs to hold the motor (WTH?) and that will stop the incessant squeaking and actually cause it to work properly.

Of course they don't carry those, those have to be ordered, fortunatly it just takes a few days so sometime next week I should have a fixed washer. The good news is that I just finished doing all the laundry yesterday, so I am set for a week or so.

Right now I am kicking myself for sewing all the time while Matt had his vacation, now I have free time and he is working until late everyday plus basketball practice after that. Very funky sort of day.

Washing Machines

In two weeks, I will have been married a year to the perfectest husband I can imagine. As a wedding prezzy, his mom gave us a check that we spent mostly on a Kiwi Washer and Dryer by Fisher & Paykel. They are incredibly energy efficient because of a different type of drive from the standard ones, and don't need that sort of springs. Don't ask me what's different, I never took Physics. Their capacity is amazing--I've washed as much as 20 yards of cotton brocade at a time. When they go into the spin cycle, it sounds like a quiet version of aircraft taking off; they spin at about 1100 rpm or something like that.

If you are ever in a position to get your own machines, I recommend Fisher & Paykel highly.

Plus they were a LOT cheaper than the American brands of the same capacity and energy efficiency.

oh, yeah.

No guilt allowed. His just being around you doing what you love undoubtedly made him feel good.

Thanks for the washer and dryer recommendation, I've looked at those before and long for the day when we can have our own house and appliances. *sigh*

Yes, he loves my costumes, just not the process of making them. ;)
