Things for Today

Matt's ship is officially broken, the rudder is damaged and there's flooding too, so he and the rest of the crew are basically confined to the ship to work on fixing things. What this means is that I have a lot of time today to work on projects that I hadn't planned on having.

Yesterday I went to the UW library to return books and ended up in the Art Library. It never ceases to amaze me all the really cool art books that they have. I found the 6 volume set of "The Complete Works of Albrecht Durer" and spent a nice time looking through those.

Things to work on:

-Take sleeves off of 1500's dress, re-cut the armholes, fix sleeves, make knot buttons and add lacing rings. The armholes were too tight the first time around and practically cut off the circulation, and that was when I could get my arms through them! The dress is going to look great, when it gets done. *sigh* I'm hoping that it will be in wearable shape for next weekend's event, May Faire, and that the weather will be cool enough to wear it!

- Making a Schiller (veil), to wear with the new dress since yesterday I found a picture of a woman wearing one with this style. You can see one it this picture of Durer's mother, http://www.kfki.hu/~arthp/html/d/durer/1/01/01mother.html

-Secret project.

-Do a little homework and discussion board postings.

-Go for walk to healthfood store for duck eggs, dates and soy yogurt.

Nope the secret project is for the Barony. I should post protected pictures and updates, its a pretty cool thing that Ysabelot and I are working on.


I could only wish that Matt would let me make him something period to wear.

Extended forecasts predict lower 70s, partially cloudy and with a 10% chance of rain, for Mayfaire. I am keeping a close eye on it though we all know how wrong weathermen can be. Look forward to seeing you and Ysabelot there!
