I finally have my family trained to use my Amazon wishlist for gift giving occasions. What this means is that if they use the model of "Least Effort" when searching for a present, it marks the gift as being purchased on my Amazon list. So, now I know what two of my birthday presents are.

A relative asked me for a Christmas wish list. I gave her the Amazon list to look at. (This particular relative gives me lots of gifts for Christmas, not just one.)

When Christmas arrived, she did give me one paperback from the list, but a bunch of other big gifts that weren't on the list. As she handed them to me, she said "I looked at the Amazon list, but it was all books!" (shaking her head) "So I had to guess what to get you."

!!!

Why would anyone want books, apparently... *sigh*

(I don't think I've told this story before, have I? If I have, I apologize!)

Yup, you've told the story, but it always makes me laugh out loud.

My family's a big book loving family, so books for presents are perfectly acceptable.

Don't you love that?

When I've seen gifts that hubby has bought hit the bank statement, I go straight to that website and try to figure it out. I'm so bad. Never been right though.
