I am currently feeling exceptionally virtuous. I have been working on the strap eyelets on my sister's corset, one strap to go! I got a few more inches knitted on the hat, and most importantly... Drum roll please

I actually got the outer fabric for the Enn's gown cut out last night!

With skirt piecings!

I am feeling so good about that project right now. Now I need to cut out the lining fabric, but I am thinking of just lining it to the waist or maybe the mid-hips... German women weren't into the fashion of showing off the insides of their skirts so it wouldn't show if I didn't.
And then its down to the sleeves, which I don't have a pattern for. They are just standard set in sewn in sleeves. Can I adapt a commercial pattern by moving the seam line and call it good?

It is so warm here today, 64 degrees, I was able to go around in my sleevless top at lunch, didn't need my sweater today, its actually starting to feel like we might be warming up. Of course tomorrow the projected high is 57 and raining, but at least today is nice and sunny.

Yay! You go girl!

Sarah,
who is taking a break after binding a whopping total of three eyelets on the new corset. I suck.

You certainly can - for a one-piece sleeve, I'd do the same thing :) If it's a two-piece sleeve, I'd drape it first.

Wonderful, I will go dig through my stash of patterns and find a sleeve that I like to use for it.
I just have one more eyelet to go on the strap, the ties to braid and sew on, and that corset is fini.

Sounds wonderful! I can't wait to see it!

And no fair! I would do just about anything to see 64 degrees again. :-( At this time of year in Texas, the low 80's is considered fairly cool. *blech* So what part of the country do you live in? I assumed you're in the U.S., but maybe not...

I can't wait to get it done either! I feel like its a roadblock project, mentally anyway. Once I can complete it I think it will speed up my sewing.

I live in Seattle, where our summer highs are in the mid to low 80's and anything about 90 is considered a heat wave and gets top priority on the 5 o'clock news.
Right now we are on the very verge of warming up, its a slow process. The 'hot' weather won't start until after Memorial Day.
Typically, it rains on the 4th of July and then the 5th is bright sunny and marks the official start of summer. I think we have a climate very similar to the UK, very temperate all year round.

Same here with the weather... It was 86 degrees today and I'm sitting here at 10PM with the swamp cooler on. It's gonna be a difficult summer!
