Oct. 21st, 2008 07:01 amBit of a mish-mash today.
Lovely armour collection at the Armeria Reale di Torino It has quite a few German helmets, some of the grotesque ones are quite amusing. Now that is something I'd love to see more if in the LH and SCA circles!
Soeheby's has a lovely catalog up of mainly medieval and renaissance furniture.
Including a stained pine buffet with 1556 carved in it. No information on what they used to stain it with, but I'm playing around with a water based stain by steeping ground walnut shells in hot water and brushing it on pine scraps that I have. So far the color is turning out beautiful!
