I'm off LJ for two days and I miss tons of drama! Not fair!

I've decided to try and dye the yellow a little darker using a tea dye solution to see if that makes the color a little more amberish, of course I will be dying swatches before I dye the whole thing.

The brown silk will probably be made into this dress from Frankfurt. Notice the bottom hoop of her farthingale peaking out from her hem. ;)

I've got the tea steeping in boiling water to create the dye bath for the test dyeing.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking about starting a purse, just because I can and cause I feel like death warmed over and need a little costuming treat.

In happier news.... I highly recommend this book for good writting style, Lansknecht clothing, history of the era, some social commentary and some darn fine tents and camp furniture. Plus, I love his description of the camp tarts, and no I don't mean the pastries! ;)

And we must be getting into the Christmas season soon, the Nutcracker is playing on the radio.
